UCAS
Our main aim at Bordesley Green Girls Sixth Form is to prepare students for further education and the world of work. For most of our students, university is the next step towards that journey. We offer help and guidance to every student through the UCAS application process as they make choices that will shape the beginning of their independent, adult life.
Students are supported to make informed choices that are right for them, by guiding them through the entire higher education application process and beyond. To support this, we provide a wide range of valuable information and services for applicants, their parents, and teachers. This includes an Enterprise and Enrichment Day based around the application process, personal statement writing support from universities and student finance conferences. Each year, different universities are invited to the Sixth Form to supporting our students with completing personal statements, providing guidance on making the right choices and securing offers. Students also benefit from Unifrog, an online platform which goes further to support the entire UCAS process from making course and university choices to a step-by-step guide on personal statement writing and supports students with CV writing, applying for employment, apprenticeships and training.
Other students follow a different pathway and the Sixth Form team also offer a range of guidance seminars to help prepare for employment or apprenticeships. Guidance is given on: completing applications, preparing for interviews and applying for apprenticeships.
