BGGS Students Celebrate Outstanding GCSE Success

GCSE Results

Students at Bordesley Green Girls’ School & Sixth Form are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results, reflecting their hard work, resilience and determination, supported by dedicated staff and families.

The results represent the strongest outcomes achieved by the school in recent years. Attainment 8 increased to 51.16, the highest figure recorded in six years, with students achieving an average grade of 5.12 across their Attainment 8 subjects.

Performance in English and Mathematics showed particularly strong improvement. 74.4% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics, an increase of almost eleven percentage points on the previous year, whilst 53.7% achieved strong passes at Grade 5 or above in both subjects.

The school continued to deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum, with 80.2% of students entered for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc).

The achievements of disadvantaged students were also particularly noteworthy.

These results continue a strong three-year trajectory of improvement. Since 2024, Attainment 8 has increased from 46.97 to 51.16, whilst the proportion of students achieving Grade 4+ in English and Mathematics has risen from 61.5% to 74.4%.

Headteacher's Statement

Pritpal Hyare, Headteacher, said:

These results are a wonderful reflection of the determination and character of our students. As my final GCSE results as Headteacher, I could not be prouder of what they have achieved or more grateful to the staff and families who have supported them throughout their journey.

I would like to congratulate our students, thank our staff, governors and families for their support, and wish our Year 11 students every success for the future. We are immensely proud of them and all they have accomplished.
