Sponsored Reading Event at BGGS

A message from Ms Arif:

Hello everyone!

Earlier this year, Miss Smith-James and I ran the 'Read for Good' sponsored Readathon event for BGGS pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9. The main aim of the event was to encourage more pupils to read more books for longer. The students who got involved did a performed brilliant and, as well as reading lots, they raised £43:28, for the National Read for Good charity which provides books and volunteer readers to hospitals and their children's wards.

Our students were asked to read as many books as they could in the four weeks they had to do this sponsored read.

I am pleased to announced that BGGS has received a certificate signed by Sir Tony Robinson, which will be displayed in the Library and a book voucher, which will be given to Amina Khan in 8SHS who raised the most money.

Thank you to everyone who helped support this fantastic event!
