Investors In People Gold Award

We a delighted to announce the school has retained its Investors In People Gold Award status.

Investors In People (IIP), work with organisations globally who want to put the time and focus into their employees to develop them and help them reach their full potential.

After a rigorous assessment process including interviews with lots of staff, a comprehensive survey and an evaluation of our people-management strategies, our external assessor has confirmed we have retained our Investors in People Gold Award.

Since BGGS first achieved the Gold Award, the process has become a lot more rigorous, with just 15% of all UK companies and only a handful of schools achieving it. This is something that we are especially proud of and is a fantastic demonstration of the #BGGSeffect.

Acting Headteacher, Ms P Hyare, said: “I’m delighted that Bordesley Green Girls' School and Sixth Form have retained their Gold standard IIP accreditation. It’s a testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication. Our staff are the foundation of everything we do and our support for students is based on their skills and hard work. Without our staff we couldn’t deliver the good education we provide for students.

The assessment process is designed to ensure organisations are following up on the plans agreed at the last assessment visit and that they are working hard to make sure the workforce can deliver the very best outcomes for the organisation. The assessment looked at all aspects of the Investors In People framework and made judgements about how well the school was performing in the areas set out below:

The Assessor made some very encouraging observations about the school in her report:

The school "has focused on developing and implementing an Ofsted action plan, which has already addressed key issues, including a new behaviour policy, written in consultation with staff and students... the school continues to deliver good pupil results, no staff left at the end of the last term, and there is a strong impetus to move forward with better policies and processes, and improved sharing of information at staff and Governor level"

We are really pleased to have retained the Gold Award and are proud of the efforts being made by our staff, governors and parents to ensure our students get the very best education we can deliver.

Our improvement journey is well under way and there is lots more good news to come!
