Thursday 2 March 2023 World Book Day 2023 - Gangsta Granny Well done to Fatima-Noor, one of our HRB students, who has produced this wonderful piece of artwork for World Book Day. All of our students are encouraged to read for pleasure and Fatima has drawn inspiration from the book "Gangsta Granny" by David Walliams.

Wednesday 11 December 2019 DEAF Awareness Week 2020 We believe it is important as a school to increase awareness of issues faced by deaf people and to promote some of the positive aspects of deafness. Therefore, the HRB @ BGGS will be taking the lead as we support Deaf Awareness Week again in 2020. Keep an eye out for website items about our activities in preparation for and during Deaf Awareness Week which will take place from the 4th to the 10th May 2020

Tuesday 10 December 2019 HRB/Inclusion visit to German Market The Inclusion and Hearing Resource Base departments went on a trip to the German Markets on 4.12.19. Everyone enjoyed a ride on the carousel and a hot chocolate, followed by some shopping time at the stalls. It was a wonderful experience for the students.

Wednesday 6 November 2019 HRB students visit the theatre Students from the Hearing Resource Base here at BGGS have been to the Malvern Theatre today to watch An Inspector Calls, as part of the English curriculum they are studying.

Friday 25 October 2019 Panathlon 2019 In June, the H.R.B and mainstream deaf students participated in a Panathlon bowling competition. Panathlon is a charity that provides sporting opportunities to over 1,000 schools across the country.

Tuesday 17 September 2019 International Deaf Project: Let's Talk The HRB @ BGGS has been involved in the international ‘Let’s Talk’project which originated in Slovenia. It involves countries from around the world: Slovenia, U.K, Zambia, China and Thailand. Professionals, including staff from BGGS, from these wonderful countries have joined forces to bring together resources and experience to create a game ‘Taka Tuka’, which focuses on encouraging the expression of emotions

Tuesday 17 September 2019 Ben Hanlin - Celebrity Magician We had the amazing opportunity to invite Ben Hanlin into the school, Ben Hanlin is a British magician, television presenter and radio presenter, best known for presenting the ITV2 series Tricked since 2013.

Thursday 16 May 2019 DEAF Awareness Week 2019 The H.R.B Staff and students organised a number of activities to promote Deaf Awareness Week this year. This included B.S.L taster sessions, sign story in the library and a fantastic performance by the HandPrint Theatre on ‘Celebrating Identity’. Click on the link for pictures and a detailed report.

Monday 8 April 2019 HandPrint Theatre 2019 As part of student development for the deaf, we arranged for The Handprint Theatre to come in and deliver a workshop. They specialise in making theatre for and with young people,using storytelling, physical theatre, British Sign Language and a combination of anything they can get their hands on

Friday 28 September 2018 GCSE Results May 2018 B.G.G.S is incredibly proud of our deaf students, Maumina Hussain and Shifa Tahir for passing their G.C.S.Es. Maumina has made history by becoming the first student in the Hearing Resource Base to achieve a grade 4 in English Language and Shifa passed her Art with an impressive grade 6!

Wednesday 30 May 2018 DEAF Awareness Week 2018 This week we have been celebrating deaf awareness and getting students and staff involved in various activities. We held a cake sale and raised money for the National Deaf Children's Society.
