Lateral Flow TestsUsing Lateral Flow Test

Lateral Flow Tests are a very important tool in protecting our Bordesley Green Girls' School and Sixth Form community  from COVID-19.  We recommend that all staff and students take a Lateral Flow Test twice a week, ideally on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.  (These days are chosen because they ensure that the results are up to date for most of the school week).

Lateral Flow Tests are not designed to confirm that an individual actually has COVID-19 but instead identify individuals who are breathing the virus out and hence may infect other people.  If any individuals who test positive self isolate, this dramatically reduces the risks to everyone in our BGGS community.  Likewise, knowing that people around them are unlikely to be infectious helps to reduce worry in both staff and students.

To record their twice weekly LFT results, staff or students need to use two different websites.  One is the government website, which can be accessed by clicking on the red button, and the other is a form on the school's system, which is accessible by clicking on the blue button.
