Careers in the Classroom
In 2017 with all the changes to the curriculum would you know how to advise your students if they asked you what they should do with their career? If the answer is no then you are not alone as many teachers who know their subject areas inside and out and will probably know what careers choices students can take which are subject specific, but do you know about alternative pathways that students can take? Do you know about apprenticeships, higher apprenticeships and traineeships? If not then this session has been put together to provide a comprehensive understanding of the alternative provision now being offered in careers education advice and guidance. I want you to be able to use this knowledge and to feel confident to pass this to your students and be able to incorporate this into your lesson planning.
We are striving to make our students strong, independent and informed thinkers so the aim of the session is to empower your knowledge of the current state of careers provision that will lead to more informative teaching.
